Bio: Michael Wood

Middle Eastern Field Worker, Open Doors USA

Michael Wood has been working in Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East for more than 15 years.  Through Open Doors USA, Wood oversees the coordination of partnerships with other ministries working in the region including media production, ministering to the persecuted church and distribution of material into countries that are rated as severe for persecution on Open Doors’ World Watch List.

Wood has served for more than 25 years in national and international denominational agencies as a communications and public relations director and a video and radio producer.

Michael Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts and a master’s degree in education and communications. He is married and has two adult children.

For nearly 60 years, Open Doors has worked in the world's most oppressive countries, empowering Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs. Open Doors equips persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries providing Bibles, training, programs to help women and children who have been marginalized because of their beliefs and status in society, and helping to restore communities that have been destroyed because of faith.
