National Ministry Breaks Ground on New Building in Brevard
Christian Care Ministry Employees to Embed Scripture in Building's Foundation
A local Brevard County organization is breaking ground on the construction of its new facility. To celebrate, Christian Care Ministry employees will host a building dedication on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 4:00 p.m. ET. To symbolize the ministry’s reliance on Scripture, they will be burying a Bible in the foundation of the future headquarters. The new building is scheduled to be finished by October.
Christian Care Ministry is a not-for-profit organization that provides biblical healthcare solutions. Interest in the 20-year-old ministry has grown since the Affordable Care Act’s open enrollment began in October 2013, with some 7,800 new members joining Christian Care Ministry’s Medi-Share program. The new building will allow for the continued growth of the organization. Christian Care Ministry is one of three organizations across the country providing Americans the opportunity to be exempt from the requirement to buy insurance by joining a ministry where members share each other’s medical bills. (See exemption here: page 128-130.)
“We are proud to call the great Melbourne community our home,“ said Tony Meggs, president and CEO of Christian Care Ministry. “Building this facility represents our ongoing investment in this community. Today we place a Bible in our headquarters’ foundation as a declaration of our ministry's foundation, which is rooted in God's Word."
During the past 20 years, Christian Care Ministry has facilitated the sharing of more than $594 million in healthcare costs on behalf of Medi-Share members and saved members an additional $235 million through medical provider discounts.
Christian Care Ministry employs more than 175 people in Brevard County and has been designated a 2014 Best Christian Workplace. The American Heart Association recognizes Christian Care Ministry as a Gold Fit-Friendly Company.
