Media Credentialing, Parking, Facilities, Access: Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Headquarters
POSTED: Feb. 26, 2018, 5:52 A.M. ET
Media credentials are required for coverage of all memorial events on-site at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Every member of the media must apply for media credentials by filling out this form. Submission of an application does not guarantee the approval of a media credential.
Upon arrival, media must present a photo ID and one of the following: a working press identification, an official media outlet business card or a letter on outlet letterhead.
***Due to limited space, a separate credential is required for the private funeral service. For details see, Obtaining Media Credentials for Private Funeral Service.***
Access at the Headquarters
The Billy Graham Library galleries and exhibits will be closed during all of the memorial events until further notice.
Adjacent to the satellite truck parking area in the back of the Billy Graham Library parking lot will be a fenced area where a tent will be constructed for the private funeral service. This area is considered an active construction zone and will be off limits once construction begins until the time of the private funeral service.
Media covering the arrival of the funeral motorcade should plan to be on-site at least 90 minutes prior to the arrival of Billy Graham's casket on Saturday, Feb. 24. The media entrance will be closed from 2 to 4 p.m. to accommodate the arrival of the casket; no movement (except by escort) will be allowed on the property during this time.
During the following events, locations for live shots and stand ups will be limited to designated areas, out of respect for the family:
Parking passes will be distributed at the media entrance upon arrival. Media will be directed to park in designated areas outside of the Billy Graham Library and near the Media Center (lot D, as noted on the map below), which is located on the first floor of the headquarters building.
Satellite Truck Parking
Satellite truck parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the upper parking lot as identified on the map below. To reduce generator noise, redundant shore power will be made available to media trucks in the parking lot of the Billy Graham Library.
A media shuttle will provide transportation from the Media Center to the Billy Graham Library and Graham Family Homeplace (see map). Due to the expected volume of traffic and major setup taking place in the main parking lots, media will not have access to other areas of the headquarters property without an escort. The shuttle service will run each day of a memorial event.
