Franklin Graham Calls the Nation to Prayer on Facebook Live for Upcoming National Conventions

Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, is asking people across the country to join him in prayer on Facebook Live before the start of both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention.

Graham announced these live prayer events on his Facebook page earlier this week saying, “Our country is in a huge mess. Shootings, riots and protests now claim the headlines about America, and that’s heartbreaking. We are in desperate need of Divine intervention. We need healing. Prayer is what can make a difference in America.”

The first prayer event, held before the Republican National Convention, will take place on Monday, July 18, at noon ET. The second will be held before the opening of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, July 25 (time to be determined).

Through the innovative use of social media, Graham is hopeful that thousands will come together to pray. “We will pray for our broken nation and for America’s future. We will pray for these political conventions and the upcoming election,” he said. “God’s Word tells us that if we humble ourselves, confess our sins and turn from our wicked ways, God will heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). He’s the only one who can.”

The media and public can participate in these live prayer events by visiting Franklin Graham’s Facebook page and Twitter account.
