FamilyLife Debuts Art of Parenting
With New Leader at Helm, FamilyLife Launches Parenting Spin-Off of Successful Marriage Curriculum
More than 800,000 people have discovered the beauty of God's design for marriage through The Art of Marriage®. Now FamilyLife has launched a parenting initiative titled FamilyLife's Art of ParentingTM.
The video-assisted resources give parents a simple vision and creative ways to make faith the foundation of their parenting. Art of Parenting features guidance from more than 20 experts, including FamilyLife Cofounders Dennis and Barbara Rainey; Film Producers Stephen and Alex Kendrick; Pastor and Author Bryan Lorritts with his wife, Korie; and Pastor and Radio Host Alistair Begg. Using humor, encouragement, activities, anecdotes and practical advice, Art of Parenting offers counsel for married, single, biological and adoptive parents and stepparents.
"It is no secret that parenting can be challenging," said David Robbins, new CEO of FamilyLife. "Art of Parenting highlights the importance of not going it alone and provides empowering, biblically-rooted principles to both encourage and challenge parents."
Art of Parenting is offered as a small-group study and an online course. The small-group kit for home or church environments includes eight video-based sessions with an accompanying leader guide, workbook and online bonus content. The free online course allows individual parents or couples to experience a digital version of the content on their own at their pace, with an in-depth library of short videos, application questions and bonus videos specific to the multiple stages of parenting.
Launching this new FamilyLife resource was a priority for Robbins after he assumed his role as FamilyLife CEO in December.
"If we want to effectively reach and support the coming generations of marriages and families, we need a leader who is committed to the authority of the Scriptures and uniquely connected to and understanding of the issues associated with those generations," said Dennis Rainey when he announced Robbins, formerly national facilitator for Cru's Millennials Ministry, as his successor.
